2025 Boards Bags & Brews Event Recap

SMPS Oregon’s 2025 BBB Cornhole Tournament: Tossing Bags for a Great Cause
This year’s SMPS Oregon Boards Bags & Brews Cornhole Tournament and Fundraiser was one for the books! Held at 503 Distilling, the event brought together AEC professionals, friends, and community partners for a day of fun, food, and giving back. The 2025 tournament supported In4All, a local nonprofit that helps students build confidence and curiosity in STEM and design-thinking pathways. Together, we proudly raised $5,500 to support their inspiring classroom programs, which open doors for future innovators.
The four-hour cornhole tournament was packed with friendly competition, with Chris Kirkaldie from Center Pointe Design + Fabrication and Jim Sattem from Interface Engineering taking home first-place honors, and Lonnie Burns, Loop Print Solutions, and Damion Humphrey, Creative Contracting, landing in second. Between rounds, attendees enjoyed mouthwatering Mexican and Southern fusion dishes from the Nacheaux food truck. Chef Anthony’s bold flavors kept everyone fueled and happy throughout the tournament.

A major highlight? The record-breaking raffle prizes! Lucky winners walked away with coveted items like YETI and RTIC coolers, Portland Timbers tickets, and local wine, making this one of the most exciting raffles in BBB history. Note to next year's attendees: buy those extra raffle tickets!
The event wouldn’t have been the same without SMPS Oregon President Nicole and recent past-president Kate, our lively Emcees, who kept the crowd engaged and entertained from start to finish.
We’re incredibly grateful to 503 Distilling for generously hosting and sharing their delicious craft canned cocktails, to Precision Images as our presenting sponsor, and to all our event sponsors: Center Pointe, Harder, Coffman Engineers, VLMK, DEA, R&H Construction, and I.E. Construction. Your support made this day possible. Additionally, we would like to thank our volunteers who organized, planned, and facilitated this event. Looking to volunteer for BBB 2026? Please email Katy Byers, [email protected].

Thank you to everyone who joined us. Our members and guests’ energy, generosity, and love of cornhole are what make the SMPS Oregon community so special, and this event and fundraiser so fun.
We can’t wait to toss bags with you again next year!
