2026 Boards, Bags & Brews Event Recap

On June 18th, SMPS Oregon members and friends came together for our annual Boards, Bags & Brews event. The day was chock full of connections, friendly competition, and giving back to our community. Here is a look back at everything that made the day so special. 

Big Thank You to 503 Distilling
Our chapter could not have pulled off this event without 503 Distilling. For the second year in a row, they generously donated their venue and kept everyone’s glasses full with delicious spirits. The space was the perfect backdrop for cornhole and connecting with AEC professionals. A huge thank you to the whole 503 Distilling team for their hospitality and support. 

Partnership with the Maurice Lucas Foundation
This year, SMPS Oregon chose to partner with the Maurice Lucas Foundation, an organization that carries the legacy of former Portland Trail Blazer Maurice Lucas by supporting youth in our community through education, mentorship, and life skills programs. We wanted our event to do more than bring our members together. We wanted to make a difference for young people right here in Oregon. Partnering with a local organization that invests in the next generation felt like the right fit for our chapter. 

Thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended, sponsored, and donated, we raised more than $3,100 for the Maurice Lucas Foundation. This donation has gone directly toward supporting the foundation’s programs for youth in our area. We are so proud of our members and partners for stepping up and making this kind of impact possible. 

Cornhole Tournament Champions
Of course, the event would not be complete without the cornhole tournament. Teams battled it out all afternoon in a double-elimination cornhole tournament, tossing bags and chasing bragging rights. In the end, Greg and Scott took home the win. Congratulations to our cornhole champions, and thank you to everyone who brought their competitive spirit to the boards. 

Generous Raffle Prizes
Our raffle was a hit this year, and it would not have been possible without the generosity of our sponsors and donors. We had an incredible lineup of prizes, and every ticket sold helped push our donation total even higher. Thank you to everyone who donated raffle items, and to everyone who bought tickets in support of the Maurice Lucas Foundation. 

Boards, Bags & Brews is one of our favorite events of the year, and this year was no exception. We cannot wait to see you next year.
