Women of Vision is an educational and awards program that supports the women who are shaping our built environment with their leadership, mentoring efforts, community involvement and the promotion of industry diversity.

About Alexi

As the Director of Marketing for Bremik Construction, Alexi Meuwissen has over 7 years of experience in the Architecture, Construction and Engineering (AEC) industry. She is widely respected and admired as one of the most successful marketing executives in Portland with the expertise that makes her an incredible industry practitioner. Alexi’s career truly took form working for Bremik Construction in Portland, Oregon. Throughout the ensuing years, Alexi advanced through the ranks to become the Director of Marketing and she contributed a significant impact on the strategic direction of the firm and played a large role in its success. She felt great pride and accomplishment in guiding the marketing practice as the firm expanded to attract the attention of major industry players. In the almost six years since she joined Bremik Construction, Alexi has launched every marketing initiative that the company uses today including marketing materials, a new website, multiple videos, brand standards, community outreach, social media and a proposal strategy that has increased their win rate from 30% to 86%. Alexi is grateful for all of the success that she earned and attained in her career.

Over the years, Alexi has grown into a natural born leader. With her recent role as Chapter President of SMPS Oregon, Alexi has demonstrated her willingness to shape the chapter into a beacon of professional support for fellow marketers in the A/E/C industry. Alexi has headed up and participated in mentoring programs within SMPS as well as NAIOP and CREW, shining a light on the importance of guiding younger marketers and helping them navigate the professional services industry. Over the years, Alexi has risen to a position of influence in the construction arena by garnering mutual respect by her co-workers and colleagues alike.

Alexi is determined and motivated to make a real change in the perception of women by others and the way women see themselves within the AEC industry. She inspires and leads others to increase the value of the marketer, a role traditionally filled by women in the NW AEC market, within their own firms, and the AEC industry. One way Alexi accomplishes this is through her position on the SMPS board as president and the general direction she strives to take SMPS Oregon.
