SMPS Oregon Gives Back At The Anti-Social Social
On December 10, 2019, SMPS Oregon hosted the inaugural “Anti-Social Social” winter fundraiser and happy hour event. Sponsored by JE Dunn, over 65 professionals from the A/E/C industry attended with the common goal of raising money for Rose Haven. This day shelter and community center serves women, children and gender non-conforming persons experiencing the traumas of abuse, homelessness, and other disruptive life challenges.
Liz Starke, Rose Haven Development Manager, spoke about the organization and encouraged attendees to get involved in many ways—from buying a raffle ticket to donating shopping bags and essential items like toiletries. The Portland State University Chamber Choir set the standard for festivity by infusing the event with carols and holiday spirit. Guests enjoyed the opportunity to be social and mingle with other attendees over drinks and giant Jenga, or to step away from the crowd and peruse the many raffle prizes. With coffee and ice cream sundae booths, a photo booth and plenty of food and spirits, the event had something for everyone.
SMPS Oregon will be donating all proceeds from ticket sales to Rose Haven. Rose Haven also raised an additional $900 in raffle ticket sales. Thank you to all who attended, and to JE Dunn for sponsoring the event! To learn more ways to give back to Rose Haven, please visit their website.
