Meet Kyle Patterson

Kyle Patterson
Senior Marketing Coordinator
DOWL

What do you do at your current firm?
I’ve been a Senior Marketing Coordinator at DOWL since February 2019. I support business development and marketing efforts for a roster of a dozen project managers. I am responsible for managing their sales pipeline, identifying and developing potential project leads, tracking client outreach, facilitating proposal development, and keeping them accountable to the firm’s marketing/sales goals and strategies. I am also the lead marketer for DOWL’s GeoConstruction practice area, which includes construction engineering and inspection, geotechnical engineering and materials testing, program management, and owner’s representation services. As a licensed remote pilot, I also oversee our drone service line within the state of Oregon.

What inspired you to join SMPS?
After relocating from Anaheim, California a couple years ago, I was looking for a way to build my professional network and meet new colleagues across the A/E/C industry. I jumped in with two feet and joined a roundtable and committee within a couple weeks of each other. I’ve met some wonderful professionals in both groups!

What’s one thing about you (a fun fact) that not many people know?
Before moving to Oregon, not many people know that I sang opera for almost ten years. I even performed with regional opera companies in the Los Angeles area. That was a lifetime ago…back when I had time to pursue hobbies.

If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
My wife and I make a mean homemade pizza (yes, even the dough!). I could easily have that every day.

What do you consider to be your greatest accomplishment to date?
I’m trying not to be too cheesy here…and will probably fail miserably. I can’t think of anything greater than becoming a father. I know my wife did all the heavy lifting but holding my daughter for the first time is something I’ll never forget. My wife and I have navigated unique challenges raising a child in this new world environment, but our rambunctious little girl turns 14 months soon and I’d say she’s thriving nonetheless. Nothing makes me prouder.
