Member Spotlight: Stacy Ho

How has SMPS helped you in your career development?

I have been a member for 20 years. Even going back later in my career for an MBA in Marketing didn’t teach me all that SMPS has. From mentorship, to the power of my network, to friends that are like family, and every job I’ve ever had… SMPS has been instrumental in shaping my career development. It’s the reason I give back to the organization by volunteering and tell all the new marketers out there to get involved!

What’s an interesting fact about your company that most people don’t know?

Most people don’t know that the rebranded WSP logo with its open and unfinished typeface was designed to reflect our firm’s complexity of engineering while demonstrating our firm’s ability to remain open to endless possibilities.

What’s your favorite aspect of your current role?

My current role as a Marketing Data Analyst is unique in our industry. I feel honored to have found a firm that has allowed me to take my passion and make it into a position that isn’t in the traditional marketing ladder. In my role I’m able to spend time looking at our firm’s data and using what I find to help our marketing and business development teams make better business decisions.

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a photographer for National Parks or National Geographic. To wander the world capturing the beauty in everyday things.

If you could be on any game show, which one would you choose?

I’m not big on game shows, but perhaps if you could call Survivor a game show, I might like to try my hand at out witting, out lasting, and out playing a few others. I’d love to test myself just to see how long I could go trying to live in island chaos and maybe prove to myself I could survive out there if I needed to.
